There is no doubt that cycle touring is making a comeback, I'm seeing more and more cyclists kitting themselves out with good quality equipment and 'proper' bikes ready to go exploring Britain.

Since the 19th Century people have been cycling the 874 miles from End to End starting at either Lands End or John O'Groats, each with a certain goal in mind. Some aim to be the fastest and have done it in under 45 hours, there are those that have done it on three wheels and some even on one. Some spend the journey seeing none of the scenery whilst on the back of a tandem whilst others take a more laid back approach on a recumbent. There are even those that do it indoors on a Virtual Trainer. For me it's about the journey and not the destination, so a brisk pace over a couple of weeks would be my choice.

I guess when Hamish Burnett chose to take on the task this summer he had hoped for better weather but in the wettest summer since 1912 Hamish completed the journey in what he describes as atrocious conditions. At least when he arrived at Lands End the sun made an appearance. Hamish commented that 'Through it all, I was very glad to be dressed in a Torm jersey. Long hours in the saddle have proven it's comfort, practicality and dashing looks'. I guess we'd better make sure the Torm waterproofs are available for next summer.

By Paul St Peters • 24/04/2012

Spring is here, it's a time when the world starts to fill with colour and its no different at Torm HQ with the imminent arrival of the new range of Torm sportwool jerseys. Whenever we release our new range of jerseys the first question we get asked is 'what's changed guys?'. Well hopefully it will be obvious, we've added a Royal Blue to our colour palette for a special year in British sport. We've also added a Fern Green in recognition of cyclings famous heritage, and with it some new jersey designs incorporating both colours.
